We start the year plugged in with the fish that I want to be the protagonists of this 2023 and do everything possible to disseminate the immense variety that populate both seas and continental waters... To start with a species not very well known from our Andalusian Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts the Fish Triggerfish or Borrico, Balistes capriscus. This is a species whose first encounter with it I had on the Huelva coast where it is known as a donkey, the local fishing technique is somewhat aggressive since this fish will bite the bait presented while a specimen is in the school, so they tend to tie the first catch in a line to keep the school fixed until they are completely fished.
The family to which it belongs is of tropical and temperate distribution, the well-known ballistidae or triggerfish, so called because of the locking reflex executed by the rigid first spine of the dorsal fin as a defense against ingestion by predators.
Empezamos el año enchufado con los peces.. que quiero sean protagonistas de este 2023 y hacer todo lo posible por divulgar la inmensa variedad que pueblan tanto mares como aguas continentales...Par empezar una especie no muy conocida de nuestras costas Atlantícas y Mediterráneas andaluzas el Pez Ballesta o Borrico, Balistes capriscus. Es esta una especie cuyo primer encuentro con ella lo tuve en la costa onuvense donde se le conoce como borrico, la técnica local de pesca es un tanto agresiva pues este pez picará al cebo presentado mientras que de un ejemplar en el cardumen, asi pues suelen trabar en una tanza la primera captura para tener al banco fijado hasta que lo pescan por completo.
La familia a la que pertenece es de distribución tropical y templada, los conocidos ballistidae o peces ballesta llamados asi por el reflejo de trabado que ejecuta la rígida primera espina de la aleta dorsal como defensa a la ingesta de sus depredadores.
